You typed much faster than I good sir, was creating a short novel! +1 for you!Well having two people suggest the same fix installs confidence! Good write up by the way! I just wonder why Microsoft has been making it so hard to update Windows 7 just lately.

To install it, I always reboot, stop Windows Update service, run the patch, reboot and then use Windows Update, which usually finds available updates within ten minutes. I have had success by installing KB3172605 first. Hope this helps you, I know your frustration. I too tried the "Windows Update Troubleshooter" mentioned, that didn't work for me either. The attached PDF is a helpful page I found, hopefully hyperlinks work in it to take you to the download pages.

Time of checking will be relative to time of last updates installed.

Please DO NOT take out the disc from DVD player before the installation is completed. (If not, please contact your disc providers.)Ĭheck the “ I accept the license terms” to continue.Ĭhoose what kind of upgrade you want and click “ Next”. You should find your product key in your disc package. GIGABYTE will NOT deliver such disc to consumers.īefore the installation, Windows will require you to type in the product Key. You should obtain this installation disc though Microsoft Windows 8 Upgrade Program or a direct purchase of the retail box package. Insert the Windows 8 Installation Disc* in your DVD or BD reading device. Besides that, you will also need a DVD or BD reading device. If you are not sure, you can click “ Start → Control → Panel → System” to see your current Microsoft Windows system. Please confirm your current Microsoft Windows 7 version. Upgrade option only works by Microsoft Windows 8 upgrade plan.
